"Speed Reading" (London)TO BE RESCHEDULED
Date: October 13, 2009, 7–8:30 pm
An hour-long relay race of sorts, this sweat-filled event features 20–25 writers and artists who will take turns reading texts on the notion of speed while jogging/running/ambling on two treadmills positioned side-by-side. The velocity of the treadmills will be controlled by a sadistic MC, the Speed Demon. Readings will be from novels, manifestos, poems, philosophical treatises, children's stories, timetables, recipes, parables, scientific experiments, or any other relevant genre. Speed readers include Carey Young (artist), Jeremy Millar (artist), Craig Smith (artist), Una Knox (artist), Sally O'Reilly (writer) and Kieran Long (editor of Architecture Journal).
