“Inventory” is a column that examines or presents a list, catalogue, or register.
During a recent spring cleaning of our digital files, we discovered an unusual “historical” document from 1999 hiding in a disused folder named “magazine descriptions/names.” The file contains all the names considered, in moments of greater and lesser sobriety, while planning the first issue of this publication. It will be immediately clear why some of these names were rejected; what will be less clear is why some of them were ever there. So, dear readers, we hope you enjoy this issue of Chalk and Cheese.
