Cover Story

Drawing by Rudolf Steiner, 1923. The Austrian founder of anthroposophy is estimated to have delivered more than five thousand lectures in his lifetime. Until the fall of 1919, these talks were often accompanied by illustrations that Steiner made using colored chalk on blackboard. After that date, black paper was placed over the blackboards so that the drawings could be saved. The Steiner estate possesses more than a thousand such drawings.
