Poetry Lab /
“A Séance with James Merrill”

Date: Thursday, 28 May 2009, 7–9 pm
Location: Cabinet, 300 Nevins Street, Brooklyn (map and directions here)
FREE. No RSVP necessary
Organized by D. Graham Burnett and Jeff Dolven.

The second installment of Poetry Lab will investigate “The Changing Light at Sandover,” James Merrill’s encyclopedic epic of the ouija board. Expect readings, divinations, and mirrors more than one; special guests may include Wallace Stevens, Maya Deren, and Ephraim himself. Join us for a night of conversation with the other world, and a lively reckoning with one of the last century’s great poems.
